Good Health Naturally
Good Health Naturally SerraEnzyme 250,000iu is a high strength Serrapeptase, technically called Serratio Peptidase, and is a proteolytic enzyme, meaning that it dissolves or digests proteins breaking them down into peptides and ultimately amino acids.Sourced from a chemical from silkworms, serrapeptase has been used to treat numerous conditions in Japan and across Europe for decades. Serrapeptase enzyme is thought to show effective support for accelerated healing, healthy sinus activity, normal fluid retention, joint mobility, post-surgical recovery and removal of waste fluids, via an apparent reductive effect on inflammatory mediators. In turn this may help to support normal cardio function and anti-inflammatory health. Serra Enzyme 250,000IU Maximum Strength are over 3x stronger than our other Serrapeptase products and are formulated to give maximum benefit in the minimum time. For this reason, they are specifically designed for customers who need more Serapeptase, quickly. Capsules are delayed release, and are taken on an empty stomach to ensure that they are activated in the small intestine rather than in the stomach.Chemical from a silkworm! Isn't that a bit strange?Well, its actually a bacteria that the silkworm uses to dissolve its cocoon to transform into a moth. A bacteria called Serratia E-15 - not to be confused with the boy band, East 17. Its quite different. It was first extracted and isolated by scientists in Japan in the 1960s and made available in supplement form from then-on. The health benefits of serrapeptase are the subject of hot debate - with supporters claiming efficacy shown in clinical trials, and the opposition stating the contrary. In summary though, serrapeptase does have limited evidence to show that it can be effective in treating inflammation, alleviating respiratory conditions, and helping to thin the blood. With so much conflicting information out there, it can be confusing and quite difficult to understand whether its beneficial or not. So, heres a couple of clinical studies and the results, to give you some insight into the effectiveness of serrapeptase and allow you to make an informed decision: A 2003 study featured in the Journal titled Respiralogy showed that a 30mg daily dose (so 1,200 iu) of serrapeptase, given over 4 weeks, reduced the amount and thickness of mucus coughed-up by people with chronic bronchitis. The study was, however, based on a very limited study group of just 29 people, and had other flaws. But still produced results that were significant enough for further consideration to be given to serrapeptase in regards to the clearance of mucus for people who suffer with respiratory disease. Another review in 2017 published in the Asian Journal of Pharmacological Science proposed that serrapeptase - whilst evidence was thin to show of its anti-inflammatory effects - it was reported to have an effect in regulating immune cell migration from lymph node to inflamed and injured tissue. In other words, it helps human tissue to retain or return to a normal state by way of regulating immune function. So, studies and reviews do exist, and they do show promising results - albeit they do need strengthening with a better-organised, higher number of studies.
